Professional integration
Thus, the Mechanics - Energetics branch leads to many openings in all industries related to problems of energy control,
the environment, aeronautics and space, automobiles, and metallurgy, etc. The Microelectronics and Telecommunications
branch prepares engineers to meet the needs of the industry in the fields of micro and nanoelectronics; at the
forefront of innovatory technology, this notably concerns information and communication sciences and technologies.
Lastly, the Industrial Engineering and IT branch gives its engineering students twofold skills, in both management
and technical fields. This enables them to meet the needs of company competitiveness, notably within small and
medium-sized companies, thanks to their mastery over modern production technology and the research they carry out
into increased productivity.
A survey carried out during the last 5 years (1997 to 2001) has shown that :
The average starting salary is 28,000 euros (from 18,000 to more than 40,000 euros). The average time to find a job
during the period was around 2 months. The ratio of fixed term contracts to permanent contracts was 23%. The survey
furthermore showed that between 1997 and 2001 salaries increased by around 20%.
As concerns the geographical location of jobs, it can be noted that 90% are situated in France, 7% in Europe and
3% in the rest of the world.
They are distributed in the following manner, upon recruitment: large industrial groups (60%), small & medium
sized companies and industries (35%) and public establishments (5%).
